Jim Morrison
Jim was born in Florida on December 8th 1943 to parents George and Clara Morrison. The early years of Morrison were very nomadic, as the family moved around a lot. His sister and brother were born in New Mexico and California respectively. Jim Morrison is however part of a Scottish descent. He is considered to be a great member of the Club 27. Jim was the lead singer of the rock band The Doors. Some people classified Jim as a dedicated and talented poet, who wrote during his spare time. He is one of the most influential rock music stars of the century. He along with his band helped and kept many new up and coming stars stay motivated.
At the age of four Jim Morrison witnessed a car crash involving some Americans, which possibly killed the passengers of the vehicle. From that moment on, he took that event as one of the most formative moments of his entire life. He has mentioned this event in many of his songs, which include Dawn’s Highway. However, his family does not think the car crash happened in the same way Morrison described it to be. He lived in California and attended the University of California, Los Angeles. Once he graduated from University he took on life in Venice Beach, and wrote songs. These songs were just written at the time in 1965, because his band was not yet formed.
In the summer of 1965, Jim Morrison along with his band mates formed The Doors. The Doors had a number of platinum hits like Love Me Two Times, Touch Me and Light My Fire. Two successful years after the launch of their band, they got a record deal with Elektra Records. Their song, Light My Fire, reached the number one spot on the charts and they were becoming a rock sensation. Jim Morrison was also into cinematography and writing. In his early teen years, he would write stories and cinema lines for fun. He created his own production company and financed a film on his own. He lived with his long time female partner and companion, Pamela Courson, who also died at the age of 27.
In 1971, Jim moved to Paris for a short stay. He moved there because of the wonderful walks and highlights that city could bring. He lived in a Paris based apartment with Pamela Courson. She found him dead on the third of July, in the bathtub. There was no autopsy done because of the Paris laws that indicate that there was no foul play that occurred. This has raised many questions concerning Jim Morrison’s death. He now joins many other wonderful artists in Club 27, as he died at the age of 27. Whether it is a coincidence or not; we can see that the young of 27 does have a connection with such music legends in our society.
